The Faculty

Founded in 1987 in Madrid, EFTI has become one of the leading international photography schools. The constant search for innovative teaching methods and adapting to the changing needs and profiles of its students are the keys to EFTI’s success.

They believes that the exchange and mobility of students between international schools creates space for valuable knowledge and cultural experience. EFTI annually offers an exchange with other foreign photography and film schools, including BECA | Before Creating Academy.

Master Programs and Courses

At the faculty, students are motivated to achieve their goals through an extensive curriculum led by a rigorously selected faculty of lecturers, big names in the world of photography and film. Over the years, more than 18,000 students from more than 65 different countries have joined the faculty and each year more than 300 international students choose and embrace their methodology. Promoting effort and talent

EFTI supports students’ efforts in their professional, creative and technical careers. The faculty has established and maintained partnerships in the business sector that provide opportunities for students through the search for qualified professional photographers. Student talent is also encouraged through exhibitions, annual publications and the sale of artwork.

Social and cultural engagement

EFTI is not just a school but a centre dedicated to promotion, distribution, creation and debate. The school offers a programme of activities integrated into the city’s cultural programme through monthly exhibitions, activities and events open to all audiences.

They announce annually Roberto Villagraz international scholarships and Jacobo Tosío scholarship, to promote the study of photography and The International Film Photography Directing Scholarship for Digital Cinema. EFTI promotes photography in all its forms by supporting social initiatives such as Enrique Menezes Foundation in the development of professional photojournalism.

Gallery Synthesis

Synthesis photography gallery is the natural nexts step to express our passion for photography and to create an open and vibrant space for it to be displayed and shared.

This is the first gallery in Sofia, where photography finds its permanent place for public exhibition. It was established in 2013 to support Bulgarian artists working in all photographic genres. Exhibitions of both world famous names and young talented Bulgarian photographers have been shown here.

The gallery aims to create a photographic archive, which follows the development of Bulgarian photography, and to show a vast collection of photographs by Bulgarian artists for sale.

Bar Synthesis

This is the living and beating heart of PhotoSynthesis Art Center. A cozy art cafe and space for cultural events, a place to meet with friends, also with artists, photographers, interesting speakers. You will also find a library of carefully collected albums, books and magazines.

Here is the intersection of our many events, most of which are open entry. A place for photographic and non-photographic events – lectures, screenings, discussions, presentations, exhibitions, live music and much more.

Manghee came about in 2009 as a result of two girl advertisers’ desire to escape the hustle and bustle of the corporate world.

Over the years they have been part of many creative projects for both corporate and private clients!

Currently, Manghee is successful as both a corporate customer service unit and a wedding decoration unit. Uniqueness, individual approach and the challenge to properly capture and build on their clients’ ideas are most important to them.

In their portfolio they have more than 300 projects for the creation and implementation of complete decoration concepts with Mall Bulgaria, Fashion Days, All Channels, Collective, Coca-cola, Mall Plaza – Plovdiv and many others.

From just a key word, through a theme or style, the Manghee Atelier team takes on the challenge and creates a complete concept to transform and decorate spaces to achieve the goals of each specific project. Find more information here.

Manghee Weddings is established as a separate entity in 2015 due to the growing interest and need for a specialised approach and communication in this area. The team focuses more on unconventional weddings and experimenting with both venues and materials. Unconventional locations such as meadows, forests or private yards offer the opportunity to create more and more interesting events and greatly excite the team.

Manghee works primarily with natural materials, which they can combine with paper, dried flowers and sheer fabrics. Their style includes boho, rustic, provence, outdoor weddings and well-composed garden lighting.

Manghee Weddings are the main partner of the Academy in organizing the practical classes in the Wedding Photography course. They create unconventional wedding decorations with a unique style for every inspiration shooting organized by the Academy. The creativity and quality of work of the Manghee team are unparalleled in Bulgaria.
